White Box, the not-for-profit
exhibition space in the heart of Manhattan's Chelsea art district, is,
in the words of Art in America critic Eleanor Heartney, "the
place to find today's edgy, experimental, truly critical art."
Since its opening in 1998, White Box has emerged as an internationally
respected venue for original, conceptually driven shows of new and established
artists, presenting as many as ten outstanding solo, group and theme-based
exhibitions a year, plus a dynamic program of seminars, forums, performances
and screenings. To complement its exhibition program, White Box, in
collaboration with John Isaacs Design, is launching an ongoing series
of publications focusing on uncharted trends in contemporary art, ranging
from in-depth analysis of single works by major artists to entire career
profiles, thematic surveys, and discursive texts examining the interrelationships
within movements. |
